Tour to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur (28/9 - 3/10)

Our school organised a tour to Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, at the end of September. The entire tour group highly anticipated this trip, and I have to say, looking back, that everything met our expectations!
The first leg of our trip was in Delhi. We landed at the Delhi airport on the 29th of September, at 8 o' clock a.m. and on the first day, we visited the Qutb Minar, the Rashtrapathi Bhavan and the India Gate. The absolute majesty of these monuments blew all of us away!
At Delhi, we were accommodated in the Hotel Apra, located in the middle of the city, with great access to roadside shopping!

The subsequent days were spent visiting forts (more than we can count!) and shopping. Retail therapy was the best  to blow our homesickness away!

What amazed us about Delhi was its similarity to Hyderabad. It was a perfect blend of the old and the new, mingled perfectly in a breathtaking mix of a city.

Our next stop was Agra, the abode of  the majestic Taj Mahal. Most of us had signed up with the intention of visiting the Taj, and the beauty of it, just delighted us! We stayed at the Taj Inn, a great hotel in the centre of the city.

After an eight-hour drive to Jaipur, from Agra, we settled at the Hotel Golden Manor. Our agenda for the next day was to see the Jantar Mantar and go experience Jaipur's rich history of shopping!

That day's busy schedule wore us out, and we wasted no time in sleeping that night.
The next day was another eight-hour trip back to Delhi, from where we returned to Hyderabad.
On the way, we saw the Amber Fort, an imposing structure that was inhabited by the Rajput kings of the time. We were all highly impressed by their architectural skills and the science and technology developed at that time.

In closing I'd like to fervently thank our principal, Mona Mehdi ma'am for giving such a wonderful opportunity!
