Tearing and Pasting Competition

Competitions are routinely held as a part of the curriculum which help to motivate and upgrade a child’s capabilities, hobbies and moraleIn this context the tearing and pasting activities help, develop and strengthen fine motor skills and hand co-ordination in children. Tearing and Pasting  Competition for pre-primary  students of Orchids The International School was conducted on 30th August to inculcate an interesting art form and to encourage the children to use the paper and glue constructively. A picture was given to the students and they used colourful papers to complete it.

JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATIONS

Janmashtami was celebrated at Orchids-The International School, on Wednesday 28/8/13, with great joy and fervour. Students came dressed up as cute Radha and NatkatKrishna, cheerfully. The school premises was decorated with flowers, buntings, and pictures of Lord Krishna. The school looked like Vrindavan, when little angels danced to 'MaiyaYashoda'. Tiny tots captivated the audience with their scintillating performances. Moreover, the event became very exciting when parents of the children also joined the programme with their kids for the competition which started at 10:30am and continued till 11:30an.

It appeared as if Orchids  school turned into Gokul for a short while where Lord Krishna had spent his childhood. Students were told about Krishna's life and his thoughts. Special matkee was prepared. It was broken by Kanha and his friends, to get chocolates.Fun and frolic marked the presentation.

Field Trip to Supermarket

Practical knowledge has always been emphasized at Orchids. The pre-primary of Orchids International School went on a field trip on 23/8/13 to Banjara Hills, Pure `O’ Natural, an exclusive supermarket for Fruits and Vegetables. All the children were overjoyed to hold and feel the different fruits and vegetables in their hands. It was a wonderful experience of learning for them.

Raksha Bandhan Celebration

Children at orchids pre-primary celebrated RakshaBandhan on 20/8/2013 to strengthen the bond of love and foster the feeling of sharing and caring between brothers and sisters. The excitement of the day could be seen on the faces of the toddlers, dressed up in traditional dresses. Rakhi `ceremony’ took place where girls tied rakhi on boys' wrists and gifts were exchanged thereafter. The day was full of fun, and the merriment was floating all around.

Eid Celebration

Eid was celebrated in Orchids-The International school, in accordance with the festivity associated with the festival on Thursday, 8/8/13.
The students of VIII and IX classes gave a presentation on the festival and the significance behind it. They informed about the strict penance and the prolonged fasting that precedes the festival. Details were given about how the final day of Ramzan-the holy month of the Muslims, is celebrated after the sighting of the moon. It was followed by an Eid song by the pre-primary.
Boys wearing kurta pyjamas hugged one another, wishing ID-MUBARAK.

The principal, Mrs.Mona Mehdi in her address to the students, told them that religious tolerance and brotherhood are an integral part of the Indian culture and a must for the development of the nation and a healthy soceity.

Fancy Dress Competition

Academic and co-curricular activities go hand in hand in our endeavour to promote an all-round development in a child. In this connection, we are pleased to inform you that we at Orchids organized a Fancy Dress Competiton for the Pre- Primary students on 2/8/13, in which many students of PP I and PP-II participated enthusiastically.
Kids came in amazing dresses and depicted roles of freedom fighters. Like Mahatma Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose. Their cute looks impressed all those who were present.
Principal Mona Mehdi  announced the names of the prize winners.
