CHRISTMAS CHEER AT ORCHIDS (23/12/2011)

Christmas is in the offing. It’s the time to rejoice and celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.
The Christmas celebrations in Orchids started with the colourful display boards with  bells, stars, candles, Christmas tree and all that go into the celebration of the festival. The depiction of the nativity scene, the enchanting decoration with golden drops, silver stars and the ever-green Christmas tree were of warmth and welcome in Orchids, ushering the Christmas season.

The choir enthralled everyone with sonorous Christmas carols during the one-hour special programme. The wondrous nativity play depicting the birth of Christ was the cynosure of the event. The benevolent Santa Claus arrived with all the much-awaited gifts to the delight of everyone. Principal of Orchids, Mrs. Mona Mehdi, reminded the message of Christmas -love, faith and peace, sharing and caring and universal brotherhood. Wishes for ‘Merry Christmas’ filled the air and augmented the spirit of Christmas.

Fancy Dress Competition (16/12/2011)

The bright airy hall was filled with colour. We conducted fancy dress competition for our pre-primary students on 16/12/11. Fancy dress competition unleashed creativity of our participants. It was like giving wings to their imagination. This gave an opportunity for the students to walk confidently on the stage. They shed their fear and learnt how to carry themselves very comfortably. They were prettily dressed in various costumes. So we could see animals, fruits, vegetables and junk food. Walking in front of everybody our students enjoyed a lot.

Field Trip to Police Station (09/12/11)

Law and order is the primary concern of any government and this responsibility lies on the police. To make the students acquaint with the police, we took our pre-primary students to the Madhapur Police Station on 09/12/11. They showed the different parts and rooms of a police station. These visits broaden the different services provided and present in the neighbourhood. To add to the outing, students were treated with chocolates at the station. Such visits make the students experience whatever we teach.

Jig - Saw Puzzle competition (2/12/11)

At Orchids, we plan activities for the physical, social and mental growth. To reach this endeavour we conducted jig–saw puzzle competition for our pre-primary students on 02/12/11. Jigsaw puzzles are excellent brain training and co-ordination improvement tools and are quite fun! In particular, they develop the abilities to reason, analyze, sequence, deduce, logical thought processes and problem solving skills. It also improves eye-hand co-ordination and develops a good working sense of spatial arrangements. Students truly enjoyed this competition.
